black friday 2026: which baby essentials are worth buying in South Africa?
Updated 5 November 2026
Short answer: Black Friday 2026 is on Friday, 27 November. The baby items worth buying are the big, long-lasting things you need anyway: a car seat, a stroller, a cot or bassinet, and a stock of nappies. Check that the price is really lower than in October, add delivery to the total, and order early enough to arrive before the holidays.
Buy the big things you would buy anyway
Black Friday savings matter most on expensive items. A car seat, stroller or cot is a once-off purchase you will use for years, so that is where a real discount counts.
Small extras are rarely worth rushing for. If you would not buy it at full price next week, it is not a bargain this week.
Black Friday bundles that already save you money
If you'd rather not hunt for single-item discounts, a bundle is the simplest real saving: the bundle price is lower than buying the same items one by one, and you can check that on each product page.
New Mom Gift Box (R849): nappy bag, 3 washable cloth nappies, elephant cuddle pillow and folding mosquito net tent. R1,046 bought separately, so you save R197. A good group gift for a baby shower.
Baby On-the-Go Kit (R599): the nappy bag with fold-out section plus 3 washable cloth nappies. R648 bought separately, so you save R49.
Baby kits ship by courier from Johannesburg; you see the courier price for your address at checkout before you pay.
Black Friday gifts under R500 with free delivery
For the rest of the family, two gift boxes come in under R500 with free delivery anywhere in South Africa.
Coffee & Smoothie Gift Box (R499): rechargeable milk frother plus portable blender cup. R608 bought separately, so you save R109 plus delivery.
Home Reset Kit (R499): cordless handheld vacuum plus rechargeable lint remover. R608 bought separately, so you save R109 plus delivery.
Nappies and daily basics: stock up carefully
Nappies are a good buy when you know the size and type your baby uses. Babies change sizes fast, so buy for the next month or two, not the next year.
Washable cloth nappies are another way to cut the monthly nappy bill. Our three-pack is R329, and many parents use cloth at home and disposables for nights and outings.
A nappy bag for summer picnics and family outings
Summer outings mean packing bottles, nappies, wipes and a change of clothes every time you leave the house. A backpack-style nappy bag keeps it all in one place and leaves your hands free for your little one.
Our multifunctional nappy bag (R319) has backpack straps and a fold-out section for changes on the go, and comes in pink, blue, grey, black and green. Watch the short video below to see what fits, then check the courier price for your area at checkout.
How to check a Black Friday baby deal is real
Write down the price of the items you want in early November, then compare on the day. Some sellers raise prices before November so the "was" price looks bigger.
Compare the full total, not just the item price. A cheaper stroller with expensive delivery can cost more than a slightly pricier one with fair delivery. At Ze Home Finds, the courier price for your address is shown at checkout before you pay.
For car seats, check that the seat suits your child's age and weight and fits your car before you buy, whatever the discount.
Delivery before the holidays
Our Baby & Kids items are couriered from Johannesburg and usually arrive in 3–7 business days. Couriers get busy in December, so order by mid-December if it is a gift for the festive season.
Bought online and changed your mind? South African law gives you seven days to cancel most online purchases, and our returns policy gives you 14 days for unused items.
